Saturday March 29th 2008 at the Guardian newspaper, London, UK, in a seminar entitled Podcasting, Rights and Music the UK Podcasters Association hosted a seminar highlighting both the impact of legislation upon podcasters and media producers, and also outlining an established legal framework for fully licensed music podcasting.

UKPA Meets ORG at Guardian March 29th 2008

UKPA is hosting a seminar on rights with the Open Rights Group at the Guardian, Farringdon, London, Saturday March 29th 2pm - 5pm.

UKPA and GCap PR

Good to see that the pre-eminent radio magazine programme covering social media, BBC Radio 5 Live’s Pods and Blogs, has finally gained its own podcast - and extra-pleased that the editors used the introduction provided by Talking Voices’ Dean Whitbread, who is credited BBC-style in his role as member of the UK Podcasters Association.

New Media Age; Podcast producers win licence to include full music tracks

The UKPA has agreed a deal with AIM which gives UKPA members a preferential rate on their podcast licence. This allows broadcasters, publishers and brands producing podcasts to feature any of the 30,000 tracks available under the AIM licence.
All tracks are no-DRM and are full length. Read more.


Talking Voices Podcast #6

We produced and helped to promote a compilation selection of the best of British podcasting, Podcast Tasters, delivered on that most conventional of media, an audio CD, at the Internet World Expo, Earl’s Court today.
Jamie Riddell’s well received Web 2.0 keynote speech covered podcasting, social bookmarks, UGC, CRM, Second Life and Twitter.

Sony Radio Awards: Now With Added Podcast

The Sony Radio Awards for 2007 will include a category for podcasts and internet programs. As part of the UK Podcasters Association, we pushed for this and so we are dead chuffed. Now it’s just a question of which of our podcasts to enter…
